Like many popular styles, bachata has been scorned in the Dominican Republic for some people who view low-class music. Despite the recent explosion of international popularity, Bachata is still the object of discrimination in certain circles. In 2007 “Dime Que Falto”, his nineth album, featured his bachata song, “Ay Amor”.
